Kindness Crews of Quinte
Starting on the Tuesday of Violence Awareness and Random Acts of Kindness (VARAK) Week, we have Kindness Crews going out making lots of scheduled and impromptu visits across the greater Quinte and Prince Edward Communities.
The Kindness Crews drop off goodies and treats to unsuspecting recipients leaving a trail of smiles and good will wherever they go. Kindness Crews of Quinte has expanded to the following areas over the years:
Dropping Off Kindness Kits
During the Pandemic we concentrated on First Responders such as Police, Ambulance and Fire Departs. As well, we dropped off goodies to Front Line Hero’s and their residents from Nursing Homes and Retirement Residences. In addition, Kindness Crews have recognized Postal Workers, Crossing Guards, School Bus Drivers, Hospital Workers, Grocery Store and Drug Store Workers, Municipal as well as Agency employees. We also drop off Kindness Kits for the Homeless and Women’s Shelter and goodies to Grace Inn, Bridge St. Drop in Centre and the Salvation Army. Hospice Quinte and the Quinte Humane Society are also grateful recipients of our Kindness Crews. We also blitz fast food drive through lines and ask recipients to pass along an act of kindness!
Our motto is: “the only thing better than receiving a random act of kindness is performing one!”
We estimate that VARAK Week generates many 1000’s of acts of kindness, of course our goal is to expand that kindness to 365 days a year.
